Eileen Mellon is a dynamic leader with over a decade of experience helping organizations adapt to new challenges of changing, growing businesses. She has led consumer-focused manufacturing companies in the UK where her strong interpersonal skills, her acumen with budgeting/forecasting, and her assessment/management capabilities shine. Her background as a financial controller in a multinational company in the FMCG arena has given her a unique insight on the balance between introducing a commodity to the market and how to market and sell new products. As CFO of Integricote, she has been a trailblazer leading a dynamic group to market - to sell products on a limited budget. She navigated the path with a startup facing the same demands as other, more mature, entities. With the emergence of Covid19, the technical excellence that has positioned Curran Biotech also requires expansion and guidance in a very fast changing market place. Her leadership and skill with developing new avenues to the market - to meet the challenges of this and other viral outbreaks  - has been clear and insightful.

Chief Operating Officer
Alex Wang, ABD PhD

Alexander J. Wang (Alex) is a founding member of Curran Biotech, Inc. with a stout background in research & development, scaling/commercialization of novel nanotechnologies, manufacturing, business operations, and new business development. His research focuses on the design, synthesis, development, optimization, and commercialization of functional, low-dimensional nanomaterials and nanostructured coatings, composites, and thin-films. Alex is also acting CEO and a founding member of Integricote, Inc., a Houston-based nanocoatings manufacturer - the first nanotechnology company spun out from the University of Houston. He currently has 7 granted US patents, 4 US patent applications, and 7 scholarly publications, including 2 journal covers. Alex completed B.Sc. degrees in Physics and Mathematics at the University of Houston and is currently working towards finishing his doctoral degree in Physics at Technological University Dublin.

Chief Technology Officer
Surendra Maharjan, PhD

Dr. Surendra Maharjan is a founding member of Curran Biotech and also serves as a Chief Technology Officer. Dr. Maharjan originally hails from Kathmandu, Nepal. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Physics from the Tribhuvan University, Nepal, before moving to the University of Houston where he completed his M.S. and Ph.D. in Physics. His main research interests lie in nanomaterials, superhydrophobic coatings, virucidal coatings, nanocomposites, polymeric materials, nonlinear optical materials, etc. His expertise in the above-mentioned areas has led him to publish 9 peer-reviewed scientific journals, 4 US patent applications, and 2 journal covers.

Dr. Maharjan’s day-to-day responsibilities at Curran Biotech include R&D for new product development, process development, manufacturing, and quality control of existing products.

Shay Curran, PhD

Prof Shay Curran is a Tenured Physics Professor at the University of Houston’s Physics Department, Fellow of the National Academy of Inventors, Associate Director of UH’s Advanced Manufacturing Institute, Adjunct Professor at the Technical University of Dublin’s FOCAS Institute and founder of both Curran Biotech, Inc. and Integricote, Inc.
